Professor McGonagall led the excited first years into the Entrance Hall just outside the Great Hall where she gave them Generic Entrance Speech 1 and sent them into the Great Hall to be sorted. All through the speech Malfoy was talking and Albus decided he didn't like him too much. Many people had been sorted while Albus was in a daze, thinking about what Rose had said about Slytherin. The biggest Common Room, that'd be something. And the hat said it was full of people with ambition, so maybe it wouldn't be so bad. Rose on the other hand was completely certain of what house she would be sorted into. Gryffindor. Her whole family had been in Gryffindor, and she had read that people who had whole families in one house were likely to be in that house. Besides, Gryffindor would be perfect to bring her out of her book-related shell, or so her father said.
"Malfoy. Scorpius!" Professor McGonagall shouted, bringing Albus and Rose out of their thinking. The hat just barely touched a hair on Malfoy's head when it shouted, seeming rather bored, "Slytherin!" many people at the table to the far right out the hall. He made the long walk and sat down at the table. Nabil, Kalvin was a Slytherin along with Nott, George and Polkiss, Jesse. Patil, Helena and Ober Peter were Hufflepuff. Finally Professor McGonagall shouted, "Potter, Albus" and Albus walked up to the Sorting Hat.
