No Matter What, I'll Never Leave You

“Ben got an A on his History paper,” Dean said with a fond smile.

“That's good. How did Lisa's brownies turn out?” Castiel asked, left hand tangled in Dean's soft hair.

“Great, she kicked that Kendra bitch's ass in the bake sale,” Dean replied, his eyelids lazily shutting halfway.

“Falling asleep in your own dream?” Castiel remarked with a barely there smile.

“Dick,” Dean yawned. “I shouldn't even be asleep right now, it's the middle of the afternoon. I gotta pick up Ben from school soon.”

“I'm sorry for keeping you. If you wish to wake up, you may,” Castiel said softly.

“No. No, it's alright. I'm good here,” Dean replied, hand coming to a rest on Castiel's foot. “Wouldn't it be awesome if we could just stay here forever?” Dean asked after a few moments. He heard Castiel sigh behind him.

“What about Ben? And Lisa?” Castiel asked. He felt Dean shrug against his legs and saw Dean's eyes drift sadly to the grass.

“With Lisa it's...different,” Dean whispered.

“It is...peaceful here,” Castiel said softly, eyes closing as his face was bathed in the dazzling sun Dean's subconscious loved to create for them. Castiel's hand strayed down to caress Dean's cheek.

“If I did have to stay here forever though, you'd stay with me, right Cas?” Dean asked, leaning his head back to see Castiel's face.

“Of course,” Castiel replied. Dean nodded and shifted between Castiel's legs, yawned once more and closed his eyes completely.
